Mary Jane Davis

Page history last edited by MJ Davis 8 years, 5 months ago

O! the one Life within us and abroad,
Which meets all motion and becomes its soul,
A light in sound, a sound-like power in light,
Rhythm in all thought, and joyance every where—
Methinks, it should have been impossible
Not to love all things in a world so fill'd

- Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Mary Jane Davis is a first year student in UCSB's English Ph.D. program. She graduated from UCLA in 2010 with a degree in English and Classics, after which she spent some time in New York City, taking pictures of pigeons in Central Park. Her primary field of interest is British Romantic poetry, where she examines issues of textual stability in conjunction with critical, aesthetic and ethical discourses of the period. Mary Jane is also interested in digital pedagogy and promoting the use of free digital platforms (specifically, Youtube) to disseminate educational material.
